The Staff Development Section has available for download,  a database written in Microsoft Access that is suitable for primary schools to use for the preparation of student reports. This database is based on a database developed by Lee-Ann Smith at Gilmore Primary school and further developed by Bruce Cool while he was working in the Staff Development Section.

The database is designed to:-

  1. be used as a single user database (not networked) to enable teachers to take reports home. Teachers require a computer running MS Access 97 to use the system at home.
  2. allow for reporting of outcomes arranged in subjects or themes.
  3. require no formatting by class teachers. Class teachers simply use mouse clicks to complete most parts of the reports and then type in their comments.
  4. allow for searching for missed entries for outcomes or comments
  5. report on outcome achievement levels using letter codes that can be customised. It does not use continuum lines or sliding scales.
  6. enable student details to be imported from Maze via MS Excel.

The section has notes on the use of the system available. These are being changed frequently in response to  feedback from users. They can be obtained by sending an email to Bruce Harley to request the information be sent to you.
