Meta search engines wpeC.jpg (1032 bytes)

If one search engine is good, lots of search engines are better, right? These tools search a combination of search engines in one go.

DogPile

DogPile is a web page that will automatically end your quire to many search engines, and return a compilation of the results. It will attempt to adjust your query to match the requirements of the search engines, but this is not always successful.

Your query is sent to DogPile, which then sends it of to a selection of search engines. It must wait for these to reply before it can send the results to you. You can select the time it waits for a response in a pop-up menu. The first set of results will be the three or four search engines that responded first. There is an option at the end of the results page to send your query to more search engines.

Sites are also rated out of 1000 as to how closely they match your query. In addition, it makes use of    +,  - and " " to allow you to refine your key words.
